  1. Internet Banking provides HKD-CNY or foreign exchange services. Cross-rate exchange service is also available.

  2. No handling fee is imposed.

  3. The "Effective Date" can be any day within the next 45 days (except Sundays). Scheduled instructions will be executed at about 8:30am on the effective date, according to the bank's prevailing exchange rate at the time of execution.

Account Details

  2. [Reference Available Balance (HKD)] is the equivalent balance in HKD based on the current exchange rate or the reference exchange rate quoted at specific time. This balance is for reference only.

Set Up Standing Instruction
  1. Exchange rate should be within 20% above or below the current buying (bid) rate.

  2. Frequency and Commencement Date
    Frequency Commencement Date (within the next 45 days)
    Daily Commencement date cannot be set on Sunday, 1st January or Saturday which falls on the public holiday.
    Weekly/
    Bi-Weekly    		 Commencement date cannot be set on Sunday.If the commencement date is on Wednesday, the standing instruction will be executed on every Wednesday.
    Monthly/
    Quarterly/
    Half-yearly/
    Yearly    		 Commencement date can be set on any specific date or end of the month (the last business day of every month).
    Note: If the specified date does not exist in a particular month, the instruction will be executed on the next business day.

  3. Termination Criterion
    Termination Arrangement
    By expiry date The standing instructions will be terminated after the expiry date. (Instructions to be executed on the expiry date is still valid.)
    By number of successful exchange Standing Instructions will be terminated after a number of successful exchange transactions.
    The maximum value is 999 times (exclude unsuccessful transactions).
    Until further update Standing Instructions will continue to be valid until further amendment via internet banking.

  4. Suspension Period
    • The standing instruction will not be executed within the specified suspension period (including the start and end date).
    • If your standing instructions cannot be executed because of public holiday, the issuance of Rain Storm Warning or the hoist of Typhoon, all instructions (except daily standing instructions) will be postponed.   5. Exchange Amount Instructions

Standing Instruction Record
  1. You may enquire the standing instruction records except deleted and completed instructions. You may update or delete these instructions if necessary.


  2. Amendment or cancellation of the joint account standing instructions is only available to the joint account holder who placed the instruction.


  3. [Latest Setting Date] shows the date on which the instruction is created or last amended (whichever shall last occur).


  4. [Number of Exchange Succeeded] shows the number of exchange succeeded till that day.


  5. Service Hours
    • Instructions given before 0:00 midnight (Monday to Sunday) will be effective on the next business day.
    • Update and cancellation of instructions will be effective immediately after your instructions have been accepted except for those that have been executed already.
    • Instructions without specifying the target exchange rate will be executed at about 8:30 a.m. (Monday to Saturday).
    • The instruction with the target exchange rate will be compared with the exchange rate as announced by the Bank on the execution date. The prevailing exchange rate will be checked between about 8:30 and 19:30 from Monday to Friday (or as soon as reasonably practicable), subject to a maximum of 12 times per day; On Saturday, the prevailing exchange rate will only be checked at about 8:30 (or as soon as reasonably practicable). If such rate is the same as or more favorable than the target exchange rate, the instruction will be executed accordingly.

  6. Arrangement during Holiday, Typhoon or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
    Instruction Execution Day Arrangement
    Public Holiday## (Except Sunday or 1st January) All instruction will be executed as usual.
    Sunday or 1st January All instructions will be executed on the next day except daily standing instructions.
    Daily standing instructions will not be postponed.
    Typhoon Signal No.8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted for the whole day## All instruction will be executed as usual.
    Typhoon Signal No.8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted in the morning only.## All instruction will be executed about 2:00 pm or before (or as soon as reasonably practicable) on the same day.
    Typhoon Signal No.8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted in the afternoon only. All instruction will be executed as usual.

    1. ## If the instruction execution day is on Saturday, the execution of all instructions (except daily standing instructions) will be postponed to Monday (If Monday falls on 1st January, the instructions will be postponed to Tuesday). However, daily standing instructions will not be postponed. However, all instructions will be executed if the Black Rain Storm Warning is issued at or after 8:30 am (subject to further notice in case of special occasions).


  7. Remarks
    • If there are multiple instructions to be executed on the same day, we will first process the postponed instructions, followed by standing instructions, and then scheduled instructions. If there are multiple instructions of the same kind, they will be executed according to the set up sequence.
    • If you cancel Internet Banking, all standing instructions will be cancelled. If Internet Banking is only suspended, standing instructions will still be valid and executed according to the preset schedule.
    • To check or amend your standing instruction, please visit the "Standing Instruction Record" page.
    • To view the status of your instruction(s) placed on the same day, please go to the "Transaction Record" page. In addition, you can save and print the transaction details for the past 45 days (90 days for Private Wealth / Wealth Management / Enrich Banking clients). NO transaction confirmation will be sent to you by post.
    • You can set at most 20 standing instructions.
    • Setting up standing instruction(s) is free of charge during the promotion period.

Banknotes Reservation

  • FX Banknotes Reservation Service Hours

    • Service Overview and Important Notes

    1. Banknotes reservation service and banknotes exchange service are applicable to BOCHK customers only (but not eligible to customers who only have Wealth Management Connect account).

    2. Customers can withdraw CNY banknotes at any of our branches.

    3. Mobile Banking and Internet Banking provides Banknotes Reservation Service. Service is however not available daily 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM next morning.

    4. The minimum exchange amount of reserved banknotes is HK$5,000 equivalent and the maximum is HK$200,000 equivalent. Customers who have successfully reserved the FX banknotes must collect the full amount of the reserved banknotes. Otherwise, BOCHK has the right to cancel the relevant transaction.

    5. The reserved FX banknotes will be available at your designated branch 2 working days upon successful application.

    6. Should customers wish to withdraw FX banknotes from their foreign currency accounts, please refer to General Banking Service Charges in the BOCHK’s website (https://www.bochk.com/en/servicecharge.html) for information about the relevant charges (if applicable).

    7. The daily cut-off time of the reservation application is 4:30 p.m. Any application submitted after the daily cut-off time will be processed in the next working day.

    8. The Bank will cancel the application if the reserved FX banknotes have not been collected by the customer within the 7 working days upon successful application. Should you need to make reservations of FX banknotes, please submit the application again.

    9. If the reserved banknotes are collected via exchange, the actual exchange rate will be quoted according to the real time exchange rate at the time when you collect the reserved banknotes at the designated branch.

    10. When the FX banknotes are ready, we will send email and mobile push message to inform customer about the reservation information. To ensure customer can receive the notifications, customer must have registered valid Mobile Phone No. and email address with BOCHK in order to use the banknotes reservation service.

    11. Customer can submit in total not more than 3 reservation instructions daily via Mobile Banking and Internet Banking (excluding cancelled instructions). Subject to availability of FX banknotes, reservation instruction via Mobile Banking or Internet Banking may not be accepted. Please contact our Personal Customer Service Hotline for enquiries.

    12. Customer can cancel instruction of the day before its cut-off time which reservation status is “Processing”, but cannot amend instruction. If customer wants to change the reservation information of an instruction submitted, please cancel the reservation instruction and submit a new instruction.

    13. Reservation Record shows up to 10 latest reservations of past 30 days.
