Banknotes reservation service and banknotes exchange service are applicable to BOCHK customers only (but not eligible to customers who only have Wealth Management Connect account).

Customers can withdraw CNY banknotes at any of our branches.

Mobile Banking and Internet Banking provides Banknotes Reservation Service. Service is however not available daily 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM next morning.

The minimum exchange amount of reserved banknotes is HK$5,000 equivalent and the maximum is HK$200,000 equivalent. Customers who have successfully reserved the FX banknotes must collect the full amount of the reserved banknotes. Otherwise, BOCHK has the right to cancel the relevant transaction.

The reserved FX banknotes will be available at your designated branch 2 working days upon successful application.

Should customers wish to withdraw FX banknotes from their foreign currency accounts, please refer to General Banking Service Charges in the BOCHK’s website (https://www.bochk.com/en/servicecharge.html) for information about the relevant charges (if applicable).

The daily cut-off time of the reservation application is 4:30 p.m. Any application submitted after the daily cut-off time will be processed in the next working day.

The Bank will cancel the application if the reserved FX banknotes have not been collected by the customer within the 7 working days upon successful application. Should you need to make reservations of FX banknotes, please submit the application again.

If the reserved banknotes are collected via exchange, the actual exchange rate will be quoted according to the real time exchange rate at the time when you collect the reserved banknotes at the designated branch.

When the FX banknotes are ready, we will send email and mobile push message to inform customer about the reservation information. To ensure customer can receive the notifications, customer must have registered valid Mobile Phone No. and email address with BOCHK in order to use the banknotes reservation service.

Customer can submit in total not more than 3 reservation instructions daily via Mobile Banking and Internet Banking (excluding cancelled instructions). Subject to availability of FX banknotes, reservation instruction via Mobile Banking or Internet Banking may not be accepted. Please contact our Personal Customer Service Hotline for enquiries.

Customer can cancel instruction of the day before its cut-off time which reservation status is “Processing”, but cannot amend instruction. If customer wants to change the reservation information of an instruction submitted, please cancel the reservation instruction and submit a new instruction.

Reservation Record shows up to 10 latest reservations of past 30 days.
